I'm upset. I spent 4 hours at a neighborhood salon. Nothing fancy. I just wanted to hide the premature strands of grey showing on the crown of my head that prevented me from parting my hair the way I like it. I chose that beauty parlor because they have Matrix hair color products.
I chose the closest one to brown, as I am not inclined for loud fashion statements. I just wanted a normal, shiny brown.
I chose Wonder.Brown in Medium Dark Blonde (or something like that) and now I have a crown of red hair totally not what I want. Although it is not as offensive as I probably think it is, the fact of the matter is that I am not so happy with it.
I am not saying that Matrix is not a good product. Far from it. In fact, I picked that salon precisely because of the availability of Matrix products. The problem had to do with the stylist who didn't give any alternatives to the hair color that I wanted, but just gave a go to the closest color that was available. He should have advised me to use another hair coloring product and forego the only available color from Matrix and suggest that I order the exact color that I want for future use. I personally think the stylist, though pleasant enough, didn't give me good service as far as looking out for the result I really want. >.<
As for me, I'm praying that the red will wash off tomorrow, otherwise I'll have to re-dye it myself and load up on the conditioner.
I found this good site that offers advice for those experiencing hair dye disaster.
