[/caption]I had the pleasure of attending author, financial coach and pastor Chinkee Tan's seminar on Why God Wants You To Be Rich in one of the Victory Christian Fellowship churches. Without batting an eyelash, I bought two of his books, Rich God, Poor God and For Richer, For Poorer.
Rich God Poor God explores the human psyche in relation to receiving blessings from none less than our Creator and Savior. The book outlines biblical bases of our divine inheritance as children of the Living and Abundant God. It also teaches us how to break free from the bondage of scarcity and poverty, if we are willing. It is not a get rich quick scheme, as Chinkee Tan reminds us, instead Rich God Poor God is a guide on immersing ourselves in God's truths... It will be up to us to apply Divine edicts and open the door in our lives to God's rich providence. (The secret to God's storehouse is here!!!)
For Richer For Poorer on the other hand delves on the mindsets that block prosperity from entering into our lives while giving sound and practical advise on how to replace the defeating financial habits. It is a "workbook that will inform, educate and motivate any Filipino seeking financial freedom."
What is special about Chinkee Tan's books on finance and creating wealth is that the principles, though universal, are written in the local context which enables the reader (or seminar attendee) to easily relate and be even more motivated to get out of the poverty rut. Best of all, Chinkee Tan backs up the financial and behavioral principles with the best foundation of all: God's Word.

I just want to add that my 12 year old son has taken on the habit of reading For Richer For Poorer every night. I am so happy that his interest in reading is sharpened and what better material than this?
